Calling all freaks: The Shards adaptation is in full swing. Following Luca Guadagnino’s exit from the project (after the massive success of Challengers…fair enough!), Kristoffer Borgli, who directed the beautifully whacked-out Dream Scenario and Sick of Myself, has stepped up to direct. We thought he could use some help with casting.
For the uninitiated: Set in 1981 Los Angeles, The Shards is Bret Easton Ellis’ semi-autobiographical psycho-thriller following a group of ludded-up rich kids whose lives are upended as a serial killer moves closer into their orbit. We recommended it in an earlier newsletter as one of our favorite gay panic novels.
The following contains major spoilers for The Shards. Proceed with caution.
